Hello,I am Larry House,Director of Rider Services at Harley-Davidson of Tampa,Brandon New Port Richey. We are here to help you with Rider's Edge (Learn to Ride) training. The idea behind the Rider's EdgeNew Rider Course is simple: to enable non-riders to experiance the sport of motorcycling while learning the basic skills in a way that's fun and engaging. That's why we developed a rider course unlike any other on the planet, a course that will give you the tools you need to begin your two-wheeled journey.

We also have Harley-Davidson motorcycle rentals which will offer the opportunity to try diffrent models before purchasing the bike of your dreams.

I had never riden a street bike before. Great course! I took it a year ago at Gulf Coast Harley.  Instructors are very knowledgeable. I like the way the course is set up, goes over everything.
Thank you Larry - I'm really happy with my decision - my course started last night and looking forward for the weekend.  In regards to renting a bike that's a great idea.
hey larry, any experienced rider courses coming up ?
I took Riders Edge about two months ago.  It was a very informative course, but I would have liked to ride a little more before I took the exam, but I still passed with flying colors.  The instructors were very patient with us and alot of our class had never ridden before including me.  The only two wheeled vehicles I rode before was a Vespa Motorscooter back in high school which was a long long long time ago, and Moped while stationed in Germany!   LOL   A very good course for beginners!

I'll be taking the class on Mother's Day weekend.  I'm a single mom with four kids and I am giving myself this course as my mommy's day gift.

I was worried about being the only new rider.  Glad to read I won't be the only one.

I'll be looking forward to taking the riding course as soon as I can schedule the time. Believe me it won't be to long from now. But in the meantime I will keep in touch with the Harley group. I need to learn to ride, before it is to late.
Ronald, good for you and make it soon and drop by any time. Have a great weekend. All the best Larry

Hello Deborah.  My name is Lynette and I am a Rider's Edge Instructor with several years of experience in all our stores and in the motorcycle industry. First I want to thank you for taking the time and having the courage to share your thoughts with regards to our Rider's Edge Course and the service rendered. We take great care to ensure that important matters such as this are properly managed.  If we are not aware of mistakes, we are unable to correct them. I am genuinely sorry that we were not able to meet your expectations. I know that we have lost you as a customer and it will not be my intention to get you back as a customer. My sole purpose is to learn and understand what you believe is we did wrong and how we can prevent this from happening again.  I have known all our instructors for nearly 4 years and regardless of their professional intentions, if your thoughts are that their behavior communicated an 'unwillingness to provide adequate training', then it is important for us to address your concern. I understand your position and apologize for this misunderstanding. If you would like to call me directly, the office number is 813-886-7433 or cell 813-956-1025.  Learning from our mistakes is not easy, but it is the right thing to do.

Please call me at your convenience.  VR, Lynette

Wife took the course last April 2010, never had ridden before, now she's got her own harley, and rides with me just about everywhere I go.  It's a different life riding a bike.  Just ask the boss of the house.  Ernie
